AEW star Eddie Kingston has provided an update on his recovery from a serious leg injury suffered over a year ago.
Last year’s NJPW STRONG Resurgence on May 11, 2024 was the last time fans got to see former AEW Continental Champion compete inside a ring, with “The Mad King” suffering a torn ACL and meniscus, as well as a broken tibia during a match with Gabe Kidd.
With Kingston’s absence crossing the one year mark, he took to Instagram to provide an update on his rehabilitation.
Sharing a video of himself performing some leg extensions whilst visibly in a great deal of pain, Kingston was open about the unpleasantness of the rehab process in his caption on the post, writing:
I tried to find some “motivational” quote, but let’s be real, shit sucked and I hate doing it, but it has to be done.
While reports from late 2024 had suggested that June 2025 could be the return window for Kingston, the former ROH World Champion stated “I’m not there” when discussing his recovery prior to last month’s AEW Double or Nothing pay-per-view.
We continue to wish Kingston all the best in his ongoing recovery and will provide further updates on his status when they become available.
