Eddie Kingston AEW Injury Return Update Ahead Of Double Or Nothing 2025

Eddie Kingston AEW Injury Return Update Ahead Of Double Or Nothing 2025 AEW

An update has emerged on the status of injured AEW star Eddie Kingston ahead of this Sunday’s Double or Nothing pay-per-view.

Over a year ago, Eddie Kingston suffered a torn ACL and meniscus during a Last Man Standing match with Gabe Kidd at NJPW STRONG Resurgence on May 11, 2024.

While early 2025 was initially projected to be his return timeframe, it wasn’t long into his recovery that it was reported he would be out for “much longer than expected”, with a further update revealing a June 2025 target return date.

With just days to go until AEW Double or Nothing 2025 on May 25, speculation has been rife among fans regarding Kingston’s potential return being imminent.

However, in a new update from PWInsider’s Mike Johnson, a direct statement from Kingston has been published that dismisses that idea.

Kingston told PWInsider:

“I am not there.  I have started running in the ring. I am still doing physical therapy and I am mentally better.

“Yet again, as people know, it’s a struggle, but being able to be in the ring again and work out with PT and working out with Cezar [Bononi] is helping my mental health, let alone my body. I can finally feel the ball is moving in the right direction.”

Back in January, Cezar Bononi shared a workout video with Kingston, in which The Mad King was sporting a new look as he continued his recovery.

We will provide further updates on Kingston’s return as they become available and continue to wish him well in his recovery.
