AEW Fight Forever Video Game ‘Internal Criticism’ Revealed

AEW Fight Forever Video Game ‘Internal Criticism’ Revealed AEW

Internal criticism of several limitations found in the upcoming AEW Fight Forever video game have been revealed.

The game is scheduled for release on June 29, 2023 on on PC, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch.

A recent report from Fightful Select has highlighted internal issues found during playtesting of the upcoming release.

According to Fightful Select, the creation suite has been met with criticism as it is felt that it “just simply isn’t expansive”.

There have also been concerns over the “repetitive clothing in other characters involved in the story mode.”

The developers also reportedly met limitations in the story mode, though they “did take input from the actual wrestling talent involved.”

It was also noted that “many people” who were involved in the “creative aspects” of AEW Fight Forever actually ended their work on the game “over a year before release.”

While the game was previously going to be a “one-off release” with updates and DLC as opposed to the more familiar main-title release cycle seen by the WWE 2k games (or Call of Duty), it’s reported that “AEW retains the rights to the game engine in the event they change their minds in the future.”

Fightful Select was also able to confirm that the game is Steam Deck compatible, noting that the “footage we’ve seen of wrestlers playing the game” is from Steam Deck.

A recent report also noted the easter eggs and mini-games that players can expect to explore when the game is released.

More details of what AEW Fight Forever players will be able to do in the game can be found here.
