Top AEW Star Addresses Locker Room Unrest AEW

While things appeared to have calmed down now, in late 2022 it appeared that AEW was on the verge of imploding with reports of backstage altercations and wrestlers requesting releases.

The troubles within AEW seemed to coincide with the beginning of Vince McMahon’s ‘retirement’ and the Triple H creative era beginning, turning the tide to make AEW no longer seem the cool place to work.

Now, however, the AEW ship seems to have thankfully been steered to calmer waters, aside from uncertainty surrounding the CM Punk and Elite situation.

The tide has turned once more, with talent such as Jay White seemingly choosing AEW over WWE.

While appearing on the Battleground Podcast Chris Jericho would be asked about the AEW locker room and if there is a misconception regarding backstage morale.

“I don’t really know if there’s a misconception (about the AEW locker room).

“There’s always ups and downs in any company that you have but, I’m not gonna say any misconceptions but I think the AEW locker room is a great place to be and I think we got a lot of great people and I think everyone’s got a great attitude and we’ve been doing a great job over the last year building our brand and building our locker room and I think most, I’d say 99 percent of our locker room doesn’t wanna go anywhere else and wouldn’t go anywhere else.”

While from the outside things seem to be much smoother in AEW, there still seems to exist a divide regarding CM Punk’s potential return to the company.

Some stars including Jericho and Jon Moxley have been vocal about previous issues with Punk, and others such as FTR and Danhausen have spoken highly about the former AEW World Champion.
