AEW star and House of Black member Brody King has compared the AEW Continental Classic tournament to life.
On the November 25 edition of AEW Collision, House of Black’s Brody King defeated Eddie Kingston in the main event to earn three points in the Blue League of the Continental Classic tournament.
This marked the first real shock or upset win of this tournament with King pinning the current ROH World and NJPW STRONG Openweight Champion.
In an AEW digital exclusive, cameras caught up with Brody King backstage after his victory. Giving Kingston credit for being “one tough son of a b***h.” Brody said:
“You know on any given day we could have been Eddie. He’s one tough son of bitch. But it seems like the first person in this tournament was one of my biggest hurdles.”
“New Japan Strong Champion. Ring of Honor Champion. The Ring of Honor title is that one title that has slipped through my fingers every time, and of course tonight the one time I beat the champion, the title’s not even on the line.”
“Well. I got one thing to say. I might not be the best technical wrestler in this tournament. I might not be the best sports entertainer, but I can tell you one thing,”
“I’m the meanest bastard in this tournament, and if you don’t bring it as hard as Eddie, then you don’t deserve to be in it either, because this tournament is supposed to be hard because life is hard, so be harder.”
Elsewhere in the Blue League, Claudio Castagnoli defeated Daniel Garcia to earn his first three points in the Continental Classic tournament.
