An AEW star has pitched for the company to introduce new Women’s Tag Team Championship titles to the division.
The AEW women’s division has recently had multiple new faces added to it, with the debuts of Mariah May and Deonna Purrazzo, as well as the seemingly impending arrival of Mercedes Mone.
With the women’s division adding even more talent, one former AEW Women’s Champion has pitched for the company to introduce a Tag Team Championship to the division.
Speaking to KTAR News, Saraya was asked about the next step in the division, to which she pitched introducing the titles to the division.
She said:
“AEW is doing really well putting multiple female matches on the shows. We can keep doing that. We can start building the division even bigger. Introduce female tag team championships.
“Right now, we have two championships. We can do tag teams. There are tag teams there. We can build the division as something huge and something just as big as the guys. The guys have the trios championships, the tag championships. They have all these championships, and it would be just really nice, as women, if we could have just an extra one.
“I’m not saying we should be overloaded with championships, it’d be too much at that point, but adding a tag championship could spice things up in the division and gives a lot of the women something to chase other than the two championships.”
Saraya won the AEW Women’s World Championship back at AEW All In at Wembley Stadium last August.
She is currently involved in a storyline with Ruby Soho and Harley Cameron on AEW television.
