AEW Women’s Tag Tournament Semi-Finals Set

Tonight saw the conclusion of the first round in the AEW Women’s Tag Team Cup tournament the Deadly Draw on AEW’s YouTube channel.

The first match of the night saw Rache Chanel and Leva Bates team up to take on Big Swole and Nicole Savoy AKA Lil Swole, who were partners together in SHIMMER. Chanel and Bates are regulars on Dark, while Swole has been on Dynamite building towards a match against Britt Baker. It was Savoy’s AEW debut.

The two Swoles won to advance into the semi-finals and will face Allie and Brandi Rhodes the Nightmare Sisters in the next round on August 17.

Tonight’s second match was the duo of Diamante and Ivelisse up against Rachael Ellering and Dasha Gonzalez. Diamante and Ivelisse have been on Dynamite lately, and of course we know Gonzalez as a ring announcer and interviewer, but she has wrestled previously and has been training. This was the AEW in-ring debut for both Ellering and Gonzalez.

It was Diamante and Ivelisse who won this one advancing to the semis where they’ll face the team of Anna Jay and Tay Conti.

The Nightmare Sisters won their first match against Penelope Ford and Mel last week whereas Jay and Conti defeated Nyla Rose and Ariane Andrew.
