AJ Lee has reacted to winning her first WWE title in almost 12 years at Elimination Chamber 2026.
Before AJ Lee dethroned Becky Lynch to win the WWE Women’s Intercontinental Title at last night’s Elimination Chamber 2026, AJ hadn’t held gold in WWE since the end of her third reign as Divas Champion in November 2014.
After breaking that drought in Chicago, AJ spoke with Sam Roberts and Megan Morant on WWE Now and was asked if she pictured her title win a year ago.
AJ responded:
“No, I honestly wouldn’t have pictured it a few months ago.
I don’t even know if I had particular milestone goals I think I was just so excited to come back to this world when it felt really healthy and really safe and really fun and just have a blast and the time of my life.
“I think the really fun part was not having those goals like I have to do this. I did all the things I wanted to do and I didn’t think I was gonna keep adding to the list of accomplishments.
“So, this was a pleasant surprise and I’m very grateful and these are some sprinkles on top of the sundae right now.”

AJ’s match with Becky Lynch didn’t just break her near 12 year championship drought, but it was also her first singles match in WWE since March 2015.
