A WWE star has commented following his first live event tour with the company, reflecting on recently joining the NXT brand.

Following several NXT appearances as a TNA Wrestling star, Mike Santana made his first appearance as an NXT star on the July 21 episode, shortly after which he re-introduced himself as Cruz Montana.

The former TNA World Champion has now wrestled during his first WWE house show tour, competing on the NXT live event loop last week.

Following these appearances, Montana took to Twitter to note that he had an amazing time, writing:

Had an AMAZING time on my first #NXTLive Tour!

Shout out to all the places we hit and the people who came out. You all brought crazy energy and we hope we gave it right back!

Truly blessed, every day that I get to do this job.

Cruz Montana’s first NXT house show match ever took place at the August 13 event in Poughkeepsie, New York, with Montana facing off against Grayson Waller, Naraku and Tony D’Angelo in an NXT Championship four-way bout.

This match also took place at the August 14 non-televised show in Salisbury, Mariland.

Montana competed in tag-team action at the August 15 show in Petersburg, Virginia, this time teaming with D’Angelo against Waller and Naraku.

This was notably the same event which saw Undisputed WWE Champion CM Punk team with NXT Tag Team Champions Myles Borne and Tavion Heights against Jackson Drake, Brad Baylor and Ricky Smokes of the Vanity Project.

Cruz Montana has only wrestled one televised match since joining WWE, facing off against Grayson Waller in an NXT Championship #1 contender’s match.

This bout ultimately ended in a no-contest, with a debuting Zilla Fatu wrecking house and attacking both Montana and Waller.

NXT has introduced a lot of shiny new toys in recent months, with Montana, Naraku, Mason Rook, Grayson Waller and now Zilla Fatu all joining the NXT brand and immediately targeting the top champion.

It will be interesting to see how the brand handles all of these new names, as unless we’re having multi-man matches every week, it will be impossible to keep every single debutant in the immediate NXT Championship picture.

Cruz Montana recently explained his decision to leave TNA Wrestling, noting that he didn’t want to feel comfortable anymore. You can read his full comments right here.
