Roman Reigns has been WWE World Heavyweight Champion since WrestleMania 42, where he defeated CM Punk for the title in the main event.

With Reigns positioned and pushed so far ahead of almost everyone else on the WWE roster, there are only a few names who could defeat Reigns to end his title run.

Here are five men who could be the next World Heavyweight Champion after Roman Reigns.

5. Penta

Penta is the far and away favorite to win the currently ongoing luchadores tournament to determine who will challenge Roman Reigns for the World Heavyweight Championship on WWE Raw in Mexico City on September 14.

Last night’s episode of AAA even kicked off a storyline around Los Perros Del Mal offering backup to Penta against The Bloodline.

While Penta challenging Reigns looks all but certain, obviously whether Penta has any chance in that championship match is a different story entirely.

He has to be on this list because he’s a guaranteed upcoming challenger, but it seems incredibly unlikely that Penta will defeat Reigns to become World Heavyweight Champion – just getting the title shot in Mexico will be considered enough of a win in itself.

4. Solo Sikoa

Solo Sikoa has found himself embroiled with The Bloodline once again, though this time, he has been actively working against the group.

However, last Monday on Raw, Sikoa’s loss to Jey Uso means that Sikoa will now be “delivered” to Reigns as the newest re-addition to The Bloodline.

This may just result in Sikoa falling in line as Reigns’ backup once again, but given how popular he’s been getting as a babyface recently, it would be far more compelling for Sikoa to rebel against this and end up challenging Reigns in a big match for the World Title.

Even if that does happen though, it would be unlikely that Sikoa would come out with the championship.

3. Bron Breakker

Someone who has somewhat skirted around Roman Reigns over the past couple of years – seemingly in preparation for a major match – is Bron Breakker.

While Breakker has cooled off a little bit recently due to the state of The Vision, it seems WWE is trying to get him back in the mix via a feud with Oba Femi.

If Breakker can break away from Austin Theory, Maxxine Dupri and Logan Paul, we might get back on track for Breakker vs Reigns in a big time match.

However, it does seem like that’s a long way off and there are a couple of people who could more feasibly take the title off Reigns before Breakker gets there.

2. LA Knight

Roman Reigns’ last interaction with a potential challenger for his World Heavyweight Championship came in the form of a confrontation with LA Knight.

Knight, looking to right the wrongs of their Crown Jewel 2023 match, is back in contention for a top title shot and it looks like the match could be on track to take place at Money in the Bank in October.

Knight’s chances of winning aren’t zero, but it still seems more likely that WWE will once again avoid putting him in the position of top champion and it’ll be another title shot gone by the wayside.

One way WWE could pull this off would be an inside job from the aforementioned Solo Sikoa to help Knight win, but time will tell whether that’s the direction or not.

1. Oba Femi

The favorite for a few months now to usurp Roman Reigns as World Heavyweight Champion has been Oba Femi.

Ever since Femi’s initial win over Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania, there have been subtle teases and mentions of him eventually targeting Roman Reigns.

While some fans would have preferred it to be more instantaneous than it has been, it does still seem like WWE is on course to make a big Femi vs Reigns match happen.

We might have to wait until WrestleMania 43, but Oba Femi has to be considered the favorite to be the next World Heavyweight Champion after Roman Reigns.
