Free agent spots within WWE are allocated to talents who are able to freely float between shows and appear across all brands without being tied to a specific one.

Despite there being plenty of talents who do appear across different shows, officially, the only free agents on the roster right now according to WWE’s website are Oba Femi, Omos, Paige, Brie Bella, Nikki Bella and AJ Lee.

Here are five more names who could benefit in different ways from being given the “free agent” role and being able to jump between brands in WWE.

5. Drew McIntyre

Drew McIntyre is a four-time WWE World Champion

Drew McIntyre has been away from WWE TV since WrestleMania 42 but still has enemies all over the roster.

Namely, the current Undisputed WWE Champion on SmackDown is his mortal enemy CM Punk, and the current World Heavyweight Champion on Raw is his mortal enemy Roman Reigns.

McIntyre has also had spats with both the Raw and SmackDown General Managers – Adam Pearce and Nick Aldis – and has no real reason to choose one over the other.

When he does make his return, McIntyre may be best suited to a role that sees him show up where he wants when he wants rather than putting pen to paper with a specific brand.

4. Carmelo Hayes

Carmelo Hayes is a former United States Champion and two-time NXT Champion

Carmelo Hayes has found himself on the outside looking in at WrestleMania, SummerSlam and just about every other big WWE event so far this year.

Despite his United States Title reign from the end of 2025 into 2026 and finally building a connection with the main roster fans, WWE has, for some reason, refused to push him beyond a certain level – which is nowhere near the level he’s capable of.

A smart move might be for Hayes to leave SmackDown in search of opportunities, operating as a free agent and showing up on Raw to see if he can get more success over there where the main event scene isn’t quite so congested.

3. Fraxiom

Similarly, WWE has dropped the ball with Fraxiom since their main roster call-up in 2025.

WWE has dismantled the tag team division around Fraxiom, and even still, they’re nowhere near WWE Tag Team Title contention.

The Raw tag team division isn’t exactly much better than SmackDown’s, but a change of scenery and bouncing around a bit might do them some good.

Especially if they’re able to win the World Tag Team Title from Bron Breakker and Austin Theory, it could be the boost they need to get them back on track.

2. Keanu Carver

Keanu Carver signed with WWE in late 2023

Keanu Carver has been presented as a wildcard in NXT – someone who doesn’t do well with authority and following orders.

If he ends up being called up to the main roster, that might lend itself to a role similar to the one described with Drew McIntyre earlier.

Rather than being a good soldier and signing a deal with one specific show, Carver could arrive on the scene as someone who just shows up when he wants, where he wants… doing whatever he wants.

There might be a limit to that direction, but at least as an introduction to who he is as he establishes himself on a mainstream level, it could work as an effective way to get across his unpredictable and anti-authority character.

1. Bayley

Bayley has been in WWE for almost 14 years, with seven title reigns in that time

There’s been a lot of talk this year about the WWE future of Bayley with her contract set to expire in the not too distant future.

Of course, that would result in her becoming a legitimate free agent, but perhaps she could become a “free agent” in the WWE sense instead.

The company could play into the situation and have Bayley’s contract expire – her fictional Raw contract that is – allowing her to appear as a “free agent” in AAA, NXT, on SmackDown, and even in some of the WWE-friendly indie promotions.

That might be the best way to take advantage of the headlines and create some buzz to re-elevate Bayley to the top of the women’s division where she belongs.
