At WWE SummerSlam 2026 Night Two, Chelsea Green defeated Tiffany Stratton, Jade Cargill, Charlotte Flair and Lash Legend in a Ladder Match to win the Interim WWE Women’s Championship.

However, Green suffered an orbital bone injury in a tag team match with Stratton against Fatal Influence on the August 7 episode of Friday Night SmackDown.

While she is able to hold onto the title for now, it does seem like WWE has to prepare who will take the gold from Green down the road.

Here are seven potential options for the next WWE Women’s Champion after Chelsea Green.

7. Nia Jax

Following her tag team loss with Tiffany Stratton against Fatal Influence on the August 7 SmackDown, Chelsea Green was attacked by The Irresistible Forces.

Then on the August 14 episode of SmackDown, Nia Jax staked her claim to a shot at Green’s title.

After being screwed out of her chance to fight in the Interim WWE Women’s Championship Ladder Match at SummerSlam, Jax is more motivated than ever to win the top prize in the SmackDown women’s division.

Jax beating Green would make sense and see The Irresistible Forces sit atop of the SmacKDown women’s scene moving forward.

6. Lash Legend

Speaking of the Irresistible Forces, there is another way for the duo to bring the WWE Women’s Championship to their team.

At WWE SummerSlam 2026, Lash Legend impressed with her performance in the Interim WWE Women’s Championship Ladder Match.

After coming close to a title win, it should be interesting when Legend gets her next shot.

Legend overwhelming Chelsea Green to win the title would be a surprise move that sees WWE give her the biggest win of her career.

5. Blake Monroe

Following a short run in WWE NXT, Blake Monroe officially got called up to the main roster after WrestleMania 42 this year.

For several weeks, fans witnessed vignettes teasing the arrival of the former Mariah May on Friday Night SmackDown.

Then on the June 26 SmackDown, Monroe debuted in her home country of England in an attack on Giulia. However, it has taken two more months before WWE has announced Monroe’s official SmackDown in-ring debut for the August 21 episode.

Monroe picking up a win over Giulia could lead to her challenging and potentially winning the WWE Women’s Championship before long.

4. Charlotte Flair

Going into WWE SummerSlam 2026, many fans believed Charlotte Flair was the favorite to win the Interim WWE Women’s Championship Ladder Match.

However, Flair’s rivalry with Jade Cargill got in the way of a 15th world title win for “The Queen.”

After picking up a win over Cargill on the August 7 SmackDown, Flair could shift her focus back to the WWE Women’s Championship.

Flair winning number 15 would make sense after not being a world champion in WWE since 2023.

3. Jacy Jayne

Ever since their arrival on the WWE main roster, Fatal Influence have had their eyes set on championship gold.

At the July 18 edition of WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event, Fallon Henley and Lainey Reid defeated Paige and Brie Bella to win the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championships.

Then on the August 14 SmacKDown, Jacy Jayne defeated Tiffany Stratton to win the WWE Women’s United States Championship.

After her Rolling Encore elbow caused an injury for the current champion, Jayne could finish the job by beating Chelsea Green for the WWE Women’s Championship sooner than later.

2. Tiffany Stratton

Over the past few months, fans have watched Chelsea Green and Tiffany Stratton form a friendship.

This has led to both stars having each other’s back, including when Stratton tried to help an injured Green against The Irresistible Forces and got beat down for her troubles on the August 14 edition of SmackDown.

Stratton would later go on to lose the WWE Women’s United States Championship to Jacy Jayne later on in the show due to this attack.

Blaming her friend for her recent failure, Stratton could turn on Green and go on to win the WWE Women’s Championship from the popular star.

1. Rhea Ripley

The reason why Chelsea Green won the Interim WWE Women’s Champion is because Rhea Ripley suffered a torn meniscus tear.

Now expected to miss nearly six months after ongoing surgery, Rhea could be back in time for next year’s WWE Royal Rumble 2026.

While she could enter the Women’s Rumble, Ripley might want to go directly after the title she never lost.

Potentially squaring off with a lot more confident Chelsea Green, Ripley might be the only one capable of taking the gold and sitting on the mountaintop once again.
