Last week’s episode of AEW Dynamite saw this year’s big Blood & Guts match in Boston.
The match pit the Elite against the Blackpool Combat Club, as well as the AEW debut of Kota Ibushi.
The Elite ended up winning the match when Jon Moxley surrendered on behalf of Wheeler Yuta.
After the match off air, the Elite and the BCC took part in a promo, where the two teams shook hands.
After the show, many wondered why the promo did not air on Dynamite, including Claudio Castagnoli himself, and we now know why.
Per Sports Illustrated, the match ended up overrunning, which led to certain parts of the match being cut, which included a ‘big moment’ for Adam Page, as well as the post-match angle.
The article wrote:
“A big moment for Page was scratched because of the lack of time, but all of the other key points were hit, with the notable exception being the postmatch interview from Omega.”
In the post-match promo, Omega said:
“If you guys want, I’ll shorten my career, I’ll shorten my life to keep this fight alive. But I’m willing to stick my hand out and shake yours if you guys will let bygones be bygones. If you guys want to keep doing it, so help me God, I’ll keep doing it. But I’m gonna do it with a newfound respect for each and every one of you. I’m gonna stick my hand out, just this once, just this once, as a sign of respect because I respect the hell out of you guys.”
PAC ended up walking out on the Blackpool Combat Club during the match, which led to a ROH World Championship clash between PAC and Claudio at Death Before Dishonor.
