WWE Name Confirms Former Champions Are Leaving Soon WWE

WWE NXT commentator Booker T has addressed the statuses of Rip Fowler (Zack Gibson) and Jagger Reid (James Drake) of the Dyad.

Reid and Jagger both have deals that are due to end in October 2023 and it was previously reported that the pair were still expected to leave WWE.

They had both requested their releases in April 2023 but had their requests denied by WWE management.

Following the Dyad’s loss to the Creed Brothers on the August 29 edition of NXT, the Schism faction appeared without the duo on the September 12 edition of NXT, fuelling speculation that they’re done with WWE.

Speaking on his Hall of Fame podcast, Booker T stated that the duo are leaving WWE, noting:

“A couple of guys who just exited from the WWE as well, The Dyad. Those guys just let their contract run out, they’re going to be leaving the company.

“They may be showing up in AEW, you never know. They may be going back to the UK.

“Reid, Fowler, those guys were actually two of my favorites and I thought they had something good going for them.

“Just recall the Young, Grizzled Veterans … I liked those guys and I hate to see them go.”

It’s worth noting that Reid and Fowler’s contracts were set to expire on October 15, so as far as we know, the duo are still with WWE at the time of writing.

Booker T’s comments do indicate that Reid and Fowler have been written off TV ahead of their official exits.

The duo, previously known as the Grizzled Young Veterans, both made their WWE debuts as part of the NXT UK brand.

While Reid competed in the inaugural UK Championship Tournament in 2017, Fowler first wrestled for WWE in the 2018 edition of the tournament, which he ultimately won.

The former NXT UK Tag Team Champions were rebranded as The Dyad in July 2022, part of Joe Gacy’s Schism faction.
