Two-time WWE Hall of Famer and current NXT color commentator Booker T has identified a currently sidelined star as a future champion in WWE.
Speaking on The Hall of Fame podcast, Booker was asked about Nikkita Lyons and her potential to become a top star on Tuesday nights.
Booker agreed that Lyons had the tools for success down the road, referring to the 23-year-old as a ‘top billing’ and questioning who would be able to stop her if she became champion.
Booker said:
“She’s coming off an injury, and she’s just now getting back on track. She went out, I don’t know, three months ago?
“But yeah, she’s top billing as far as I’m concerned. She’s got a lot of talent, she’s got a lot of upside. Her in-ring prowess is on-point
“She’s a bigger girl. Her abilities, man, it’s unbelievable for someone of her stature.
“She could be champion in NXT, no problem. The thing is, what I see with Nikkita, if she does get the championship, who’s gonna beat her?
“That’s the thing I’m wondering her. She could go on a hell of a run.”
Lyons announced on the February 21 NXT that she would be out of action for up to a year after injuring her meniscus and tearing her ACL.
We continue to wish Lyons all the best in her ongoing recovery.
the NXT Gold Rush special continued this week (June 27) with four major title matches occurring.
Not only were there headline grabbing matches but a top main roster star also returned to an old gimmick in the show’s main event match, to find out more details click here.
