Brock Lesnar has officially been removed from the active WWE roster and onto the alumni page following his WrestleMania 42 retirement.
At WWE WrestleMania 42, Brock Lesnar was defeated by Oba Femi in the opening match of WrestleMania Sunday.
After the match, Lesnar spent moments in the ring, where he would leave his gloves and boots in the ring, seemingly retiring from the company after his defeat.
There has been a lot of speculation about Brock’s status since WrestleMania, with some in the company reportedly being taken aback by his sudden retirement, expecting him to retire at WWE SummerSlam in his hometown of Minneapolis in August.
Brock Lesnar Moved To WWE Alumni, Seemingly Done With The Company
However, it seems as though Brock Lesnar has officially retired from the company, as he was today moved from WWE’s active roster page to the alumni page on WWE’s website.
While nothing has yet been confirmed, the company moving him to the alumni section of it’s roster would indicate that he has finished up with WWE, with his WrestleMania 42 loss to Oba Femi being his final match.
Oba Femi has begun his Oba Femi Open Challenge on Raw since the victory, kicking off with a win over Otis on this week’s show.
We will provide updates on the situation as they become available.
Gunther’s Favour To Paul Heyman Following Brock Lesnar Retirement
With Brock Lesnar now seemingly done with WWE, there is a lot of speculation among fans on what the favour that Paul Heyman owes Gunther will be after he stepped in to face Seth Rollins at WrestleMania 42.
Many believed that with Gunther’s current career killer gimmick after retiring Goldberg, John Cena and AJ Styles, that the favour would be for Gunther to face the Beast Incarnate in his retirement match at SummerSlam in Minneapolis.
However, with Lesnar now seemingly gone, and Gunther now being moved over to SmackDown to challenge Cody Rhodes, the possibilities on what the favour could end up being have narrowed.
Ultimately, with injuries and other circumstances leading to a change of plans with Gunther, Rollins, Lesnar, Bron Breakker and others prior to WrestleMania and the weeks since, this may end up just the latest in an ever growing list of mysteries set up but ultimately dropped by the company in the past few months.
