After weeks of curses and hijinks, Danhausen will team with a mystery partner to face The Miz and Kit Wilson at WWE Backlash 2026.
While the “Very Nice, Very Evil” star has been among the most popular names on the WWE roster today, Danhausen hasn’t made too many friends.
This makes guessing his potential partner at Backlash 2026 extremely unpredictable and interesting to see who appears in his corner come this tag team showdown.
Here are six potential options for the mystery tag team partner for Danhausen at WWE Backlash 2026.
6. Mr. Iguana
Since WWE announced the acquisition of Lucha Libre AAA, several Mexican stars have appeared in the company to further earn the company some exposure.
Among all of the AAA talents featured, Mr. Iguana has been the one who has been spotlighted the most.
Gaining popularity for his mascot, La Yesca and his charismatic personality, Iguana feels like someone who might be a match for a star like Danhausen.
With their facepaint and popularity with the fans, Iguana is the kind of partner who would fit in nicely alongside Danhausen and against the duo of The Miz and Kit Wilson on May 9 at Backlash 2026.
5. Royce Keys
At WWE Royal Rumble 2026, Royce Keys made his debut for the company as an entrant in the Men’s Royal Rumble Match.
The former Powerhouse Hobbs then would later debut on Friday Night SmackDown and has become a dominant presence on the blue brand.
If Danhausen wants to find someone who could easily deal with The Miz and Kit Wilson on his own, he might not need to look any further than Keys.
With their connection from their time together in All Elite Wrestling, Danhausen could get someone who can take down his WWE Backlash 2026 opponents with their overwhelming power like Keys to get the job done on May 9.
4. Carmelo Hayes
On the March 27 edition of Friday Night SmackDown, Sami Zayn defeated Carmelo Hayes to win the WWE United States Championship.
Since losing the gold and a subsequent rematch, Hayes has been absent from WWE television, recovering from an apparent knee injury he suffered in a match against Zayn.
Wanting to get himself back into in-ring competition, Hayes might take the opportunity to clash with his former tag team partner in The Miz.
Knowing “The A Lister” as well as he does, Melo might be the perfect choice for Danhausen to pair up against Miz and Kit Wilson at WWE Backlash 2026.
3. Stephen A. Smith
Over the past few weeks, Danhausen has been giving some people outside of the WWE bubble a hard time.
During an appearance on ESPN, Danhausen cursed Stephen A. Smith and his favorite sports team, the New York Knicks.
However, the Knicks were able to survive the first round of the NBA Playoffs and are two wins away from their second straight Eastern Conference Finals, which means Danhausen has lifted the curse as he stated in a social media video.
With the curse being lifted off of his Knicks, Smith might feel the need to repay the favor Danhausen gave him by making his pro wrestling debut alongside the WWE star against The Miz and Kit Wilson at Backlash 2026 in Tampa.
2. Jelly Roll
Someone who has interacted with The Miz and Kit Wilson quite a bit recently is Jelly Roll.
The country music star has laid out and beaten both men, getting his first singles win in the ring over Wilson in March.
While he recently stated that he was done with wrestling for now, Jelly could see Danhausen in need of some assistance with Miz and Kit, making it necessary to make his return at WWE Backlash 2026.
With Danhausen by his side, Jelly could keep his momentum in the ring by picking up another win in tag team action against Miz and Kit in Tampa, Florida.
1. CM Punk
At WWE WrestleMania 42 Night Two, Roman Reigns defeated CM Punk to win the World Heavyweight Championship.
Since this loss, fans have not seen “The Best In The World” back in the squared circle over the past few weeks.
Before he was signed to WWE, Danhausen established a friendship outside of the ring with Punk during their time together in All Elite Wrestling.
Bringing that relationship to their new home, Danhausen could call upon Punk to stand by his side against the opposition of The Miz and Kit Wilson at the WWE Backlash 2026 premium live event.
