The Miz has commented on who could be Danhausen’s tag team partner at the WWE Backlash 2026, bringing up CM Punk.

At Backlash, Danhausen and a mystery partner will face Miz and Kit Wilson, with Danhausen’s partner still not known as of this writing.

Appearing on ESPN Unsportsmanlike today, Miz was asked his thoughts on who Danhausen could pick as his partner and specifically brought up speculation from fans about it being Punk due to Danhausen and Punk’s real-life friendship.

Miz said:

“I don’t care who he brings. I don’t care. I’ve seen the internet going in an uproar about who this mystery partner could be. I don’t care who it is.

“Whoever it is, is going to lose to myself and my mentee Kit Wilson, who by the way, is one of the top performers in WWE right now and deserves this spot at Backlash to be promoted, to be looked at as top value in WWE.

“People said Stardust, and I went, ‘You’ve got to be kidding me.’ People are like, ‘CM Punk,’ because Danhausen and Punk have pictures together.

“I don’t know what’s going through Danhausen’s mind on what he wants in a WWE tag team partner. Nobody knows because he’s unpredictable, you really never know what Danhausen is going to do.”

WWE Backlash Card Placement For Danhausen & Partner Vs The Miz & Kit Wilson

A lot of the WWE Backlash match order is already set, and with only five matches left on the card, there’s not mch guesswork remaining.

Roman Reigns vs Jacob Fatu for the World Heavyweight Championship will undoubtedly be the main event going on last.

Also, with the first hour airing on ESPN2, we know that the two matches in that hour will be Seth Rollins vs Bron Breakker, and Trick Williams vs Sami Zayn.

That leaves only spots three and four on the card for this tag match, and wrestling logic would dictate this would be the ‘buffer’ match before the main event, putting it in fourth spot.
