WWE Hall of Famer Bully Ray has admitted he’s a “little concerned” about the booking of NXT star Izzi Dame.
After winning the WWE NXT Women’s North American Championship during the first NXT show of 2026: New Year’s Evil – Izzi Dame appeared to be in line for a true breakout year.
While her feud with former tag team partner Tatum Paxley was a major angle on NXT TV, since she came out on the losing side of it, Dame has not taken that step up to the main event picture like fans may have expected.
Dame failed in her sole WWE NXT Women’s Title opportunity against then champion Lola Vice on the May 26 episode of NXT, and then proceeded to enter the race for Wren Sinclair’s Women’s Speed Championship – an endeavour that did fuel Shawn Spears being kicked out of The Culling, but did not bring Dame another piece of silverware.
After once again coming out on the losing end of another big match – this time a Women’s North American Championship number one contender’s match on the July 7 episode of NXT – WWE Hall of Famer Bully Ray has voiced his “concern” for Dame.
Speaking on Busted Open After Dark, Bully Ray said:
“I’m a little concerned with Izzi Dame. I don’t know why Izzi Dame is not being featured more. She was being featured for a while, but they’ve kind of had her in the Speed division, she didn’t win tonight. I wonder what’s going on with Izzi.
“Uncle Bully has been keeping an eye on Izzi and he likes what he sees. It factor, airport test, work, statuesque, whole nine.
“I thought Izzi would have been someone they hit the gas on a little bit more. Maybe they’re cooling her off because they plan on doing it. But I think the girl has earned more of the meat of the push.”

Bully Ray Hopes More Opportunities Come Karmen Petrovic’s Way
As well as Izzi Dame, Bully Ray expressed his hopes to see Karmen Petrovic receive more of a spotlight on NXT television.
Bully said:
“Another woman there that I would like to see get more of an opportunity and not be so much background noise is Karmen Petrovic. Karmen’s talented.
“And I know she’s kind of in Nattie’s crew right now, but being a back up singer ain’t nearly as cool as being the lead singer and I’d love to see Karmen get a couple more opportunities.”

As Bully mentioned, Petrovic recently formed an alliance with Nattie, Nikkita Lyons and Layla Diggs, which has seen her appear more prominently on NXT TV as a result.
Over in AAA however, Petrovic has perhaps an even more opportunity ahead of her, as she’s now a member of the reformed Los Perros Del Mal faction along with Angel, Berto, Bronco Nima and Daga.
