Nattie seemingly formed a new faction with Nikkita Lyons and Karmen Petrovic on tonight’s episode of WWE NXT.
After debuting her new ‘Lowkey Legend’ persona in WWE earlier this year, Nattie has been absent from Raw recently but has instead been making appearances on NXT TV and having some issues with Jaida Parker.
Tonight, those issues came to a head with a match between the two, which was ultimately won by Nattie.
However, some interesting news comes from before and after the match, as Nattie seemed to form an alliance with Nikkita Lyons and Karmen Petrovic.
Lyons and Petrovic are two names who were regulars on NXT TV a few years ago but hadn’t been featured much until re-emerging recently, instead appearing more on Evolve and LFG instead of NXT.
While they didn’t get involved in the match to help Nattie, it does seem as though they’ll be a trio going forward as they arrived and left with the former SmackDown Women’s Champion.
Nattie formed a brief partnership with Petrovic on NXT TV a few years ago and has worked with Lyons on the aforementioned LFG show recently, which explains them coming together with her.
WWE NXT To Become More Tournament Focused?
With the Men’s and Women’s WWE Speed Championships both currently being active on the NXT roster, both titles typically see number one contenders tournaments take place on NXT television to determine the next challenger for each respective champion.
However, it has also been confirmed that a number of NXT stars will be part of the upcoming John Cena Classic, as announced by John Cena himself back at WWE Backlash, though it is not yet known what exactly the format of the John Cena Classic will end up being.
Over the years, NXT has thrived off it’s many notable tournaments, notably the Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic tournaments and the brand’s major involvement in 2016’s Cruiserweight Classic and both editions of the Mae Young Classic in 2017 and 2018.
While the NXT Heritage Cup was officially retired recently, WWE did recently trademark the Global Heritage Invitational name used for a tournament around the title back in 2023, and with a recent influx of international standouts such as Elio LeFleur, Dorian Van Dux and Romeo Moreno, now would be as good a time as ever to bring back the format, even without the Heritage Cup.
NXT focusing more on tournaments on weekly TV would give a nice change of pace, giving parts of the show more of an in-ring focus in contrast to the more chaotic nature of NXT’s main booking.
