WWE Hall of Famer JBL has shared his honest thoughts on Danhausen, explaining why he doesn’t want to give him any advice.

Danhausen has recently been receiving a mainstream spotlight, with ESPN highlighting him cursing and uncursing the New York Knicks en route to the team recently becoming 2026 NBA champions.

Speaking on Something To Wrestle, JBL stated that while he’s enjoying what Danhausen is bringing to the table, he doesn’t quite understand the character.

The former WWE Champion stated:

“The NBA loves this guy, and for good reason. He’s really talented, he’s good at what he does. People love the Knicks right now…

“I don’t want to give him any advice. Sometimes young guys will come to me for advice. I don’t understand the Danhausen character, I kind of have some thoughts about it, but he’s doing so great.

“You don’t want to give advice and then they take your advice and get themselves out of what their thought process that got them over.”

When asked whether he thinks Danhausen will open the door for more similar outside-the-box characters to emerge in WWE, JBL responded:

“No, I don’t think so. People talk today about the old wrestling like ‘Man, we need 25 Shawn Michaels’ today.’ We didn’t have 25, we had one. We had one Eddie Guerrero, we had one Undertaker.

“They’ve got one Danhausen. This guy is unbelievably talented, he’s found lightning in a bottle. When I say does it open up the opportunity? Yes, perhaps the opportunity. But are you going to see a bunch of Danhausens?

“There are a few guys out there that can do stuff like this. There are a few guys like Santino Marella, like R-Truth, that can go out there and create unbelievable comedy with anybody that they’re with because they’re very, very smart guys. They’re very good at what they do and they have a knack for it.

“There are a lot of smart guys out there, but there are very few smart guys that can do wrestling, and there’s very few smart guys that can get over like Danhausen. Does it open up the opportunity for more? Yes… Are we going to see a bunch more? I would bet against it.

“Hopefully we do, but there’s only a few every single generation that are like this, that get over.”

With most of Danhausen only having wrestled in three televised matches since his WWE debut in February, it can be easy to forget how talented the Very Nice, Very Evil star is in the ring.

With his most recent on-screen bout seeing him and Minihausen defeat Kit Wilson and The Miz at Backlash in May, it would make sense to give Danhausen more in-ring time to allow him to showcase his skills both in between and away from the ropes.
