WWE star Danhausen has reacted to the New York Knicks becoming 2026 NBA Champions, after both cursing and uncursing the team.
For the first time in 53 years, the Knicks are NBA Champions, defeating the San Antonio Spurs in Game 5 of the finals on June 13 to win the series 4-1.
Danhausen has now taken to Twitter to share a video, during which he congratulated the Knicks, and highlighted his involvement in their victory.
Declaring that the New York Knicks are “forever uncursed” in the caption, Danhausen stated in the video:
“Yes, we did it! Danhausen’s the king of New York now! Ooh yes, I’ll have a statue of Danhausen, and a mural of Danhausen, and Danhausen on the side of Times Square, on the side of Madison Square Garden.
“But of course, congratulations to the Knickshausens, because you did all the work. It was a little team effort, Danhausen uncursed you, cursed a couple of your opponents, which he really didn’t have to do, he just wanted to get some extra human money, extort the billionaire Stephen A Smith.
“But nevertheless, we did it, and now the mayor has to give Danhausen a parade of his own, and a statue, or whatever I said. I don’t know, some big balloon animal floating in between Snoopy and Garfield.
“We can have Danhausen day, we could have the Knicks day and we celebrate that you are the NBA 2026 Champions. You are uncursed!”

The effects of Danhausen’s curse on ESPN’s Stephen A Smith – well known to be a huge fan of the Knicks – were felt pretty quickly, with the now-NBA Champions losing to the Atlanta Hawks in Games 2 and 3 of their playoff series.
Danhausen lifted the curse ahead of Game 6, which saw the Knicks defeat the Hawks to win the series. The Knicks went on to sweep the Philadelphia 76ers in the Eastern Conference Semifinals.
The Very Nice, Very Evil star then cursed the Knicks’ Eastern Conference Finals opponents, the Cleveland Cavaliers. Lo and behold, the Knicks swept once again, defeating the Cavaliers 4-0 en-route to the NBA Finals.
Danhausen has had a meteoric rise in WWE since his debut at February’s Elimination Chamber event. Having the relatively new WWE star appear for ESPN alongside Stephen A Smith on several occasions over the past few months was a wise move, giving Danhausen a more mainstream platform to gain popularity.
