Chad Gable has posted his first reaction to earning a future Intercontinental Championship match against Gunther on this week’s WWE Raw (August 7).
Gable earned the title match via victory in a #1 contender four-way against Ricochet, Matt Riddle and Tommaso Ciampa in front of Gable’s hometown crowd in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
Making the already special moment even more so was Gable’s family being in attendance, even getting to celebrate with his son after the bell.
Gable reacted to emotional moment via Twitter, stating that it would be a moment both he and his young son will never forget, saying alongside a picture of Gable holding his son on his shoulders:
Yo, Minnesota… you are all rockstars.
Thank you for tonight.
I won’t ever forget it.
And neither will he.
Gable’s future title match with Gunther will be the second time the Alpha Academy leader has faced off with The Ring General recently.
On the SummerSlam go-home edition of Raw (July 31) Gable managed to best Gunther’s five-minute challenge before eventually being defeated when the match was extended beyond that time.
Elsewhere on Raw, Sami Zayn was attacked by the Irish Ace JD McDonagh, being ruled out of an appearance in the show’s main event match.
While this appeared to be an angle, it has unfortunately been revealed that a real injury to Zayn was the reason for the attack taking place, for full details on this check here.
