Did Dustin Rhodes Beat Christian Cage For AEW TNT Championship AEW

A legendary standoff in the opening match of tonight’s AEW Dynamite (January 17) between Christian Cage and Dustin Rhodes.

In the first of three titles on the line on tonight’s edition of Dynamite, the TNT Championship was on the line as Christian Cage defended his title against another legend of professional wrestling.

Dustin Rhodes had his shot at the TNT Championship, however as usual Cage wasn’t alone.

Not only did Rhodes have to face Christian Cage in the ring but he also had to deal with Nick Wayne and Killswitch (fka Luchasaurus) at ringside.

In the end, despite attempting to interfere in the match it would be the two tagalongs who would end up on the receiving end of big moves from Rhodes on the outside.

After an engaging match which clearly captured the imagination of the crowd (who were excited about near falls throughout but particularly the final third of the match) the title would not change hands.

Christian Cage picked up the victory to retain the TNT Championship.

After the match in a backstage segment, Swerve Strickland had an interview with Renee Paquette where he asserted that he has eyes, everywhere in AEW.

In particular, he was speaking about the AEW World Championship match tonight between Samoa Joe and HOOK, as well as keeping his eyes on Hangman Page.
