CM Punk’s first WWE feud following his monumental return to the company at Survivor Series has been confirmed.
After almost a decade away, CM Punk is back in the fold in WWE, returning at the climax of the Survivor Series event in Chicago on Saturday night.
Punk cut his first promo back in the company on last night’s episode of Raw, where he said that he was welcomed back to the company by ‘almost everyone’, in reference to Seth Rollins referring to him as a ‘hypocrite’ earlier in the night.
In an update from Sports Illustrated, Seth Rollins is indeed set to be Punk’s first feud back in the company following his return at Survivor Series.
Sports Illustrated also stated that there are currently plans for Punk to feud with Roman Reigns, but that will take place after the Rollins feud.
The article noted:
There are plans for Punk to feud with Roman Reigns, Sports Illustrated has learned. But it will not be Punk against Reigns first, as that spot belongs to Rollins. A feud between Rollins and Punk is a massive positive for both men. Punk can still wrestle at a high-level, but his work will only be enhanced in the ring with a world-class wrestler like Rollins. While it is not the current favorite, there is plenty of reason to believe Punk-Rollins could serve as the main event for the opening night of WrestleMania 40. For Rollins, that would simply not be the case without Punk.
Rollins is set to defend the World Heavyweight Championship against Jey Uso on next week’s show.
