CM Punk Shares Honest Thoughts On Working With John Cena WWE

CM Punk has shared his honest thoughts on working with a number of WWE stars, including John Cena.

While Punk and Cena faced off on a number off occasions during their previous WWE runs, the duo most famously clashed over the WWE Championship in 2011.

Punk notably defeated Cena at that year’s Money in the Bank event, but this was only one of the duo’s many classic matches.

During an Instagram livestream with Elite Comics11, Punk reflected on his previous WWE run, and being ‘married’ to John Cena for some time.

Seeing his feuds with Cena as signs that WWE trusted him, Punk said:

“I’m here and then being trusted enough to work with John Cena pretty much every day, every night for quite some time.

“We were married to each other and it was always a night off and it was always easy and when you’re tasked with working with the guy who pretty much is the engine that makes the company go at that point, it’s kind of just like, okay, I figured it out then.

“I was like, alright, I know. They trust me enough and I’m not gonna do anything stupid, I’m not gonna hurt the guy. It’s always good and it’s quality and it was fun and it was different and they trusted me to keep it different and it wasn’t the same thing all the time.”

CM Punk last faced off against John Cena on the February 25, 2013 edition of Raw, with Cena ultimately defeating Punk to keep his WrestleMania 29 main event spot.
