A massive main event between CM Punk and incumbent AEW World Champion Hangman Adam Page at AEW Double or Nothing.
The match was intensely personal with storytelling that was as compelling as the hard hitting action inside the ring, Hangman Adam Page held up his championship belt mid-match and told Punk it would never be his.
After a mishap left the referee knocked down, Page considered using the belt to hit Punk but ultimately denied the urge, a momentary crisis of consciousness which cost him the championship as CM Punk capitalized and hit the GTS to get the pinfall victory to become the new AEW World Champion.
Elsewhere on Double or Nothing, the Men’s and Women’s Owen Hart Cup finals and true chaos during the anarchy in the arena match.
