CMLL Signs Top Independent Star

Mexican promotion CMLL has signed one of wrestling’s top independent stars, Bandido. He made an appearance at the promotion’s event on November 29th, announcing his arrival and his intention to take on the “big heads” of the company. Bandido has been working for Ring of Honor for the last year.

Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter has stated that Bandido’s deal with CMLL is not a full time contract. He is still signed to Ring of Honor through the end of the year. It remains to be seen if he will continue working with the promotion following the end of his current contract.

Ring of Honor and CMLL have a working relationship so it is not outside the realm of possibility that Bandido continues to work in both promotions.

Bandido is considered one of Ring of Honor’s three big free agents. He, Jeff Cobb and Marty Scurll are all on expiring contracts. Bandido’s future appears to have been revealed, while it is not certain where Cobb and Scurll will end up. Needless to say losing any of the three would be a large blow to the Ring of Honor roster.
