On tonight’s (August 16) NXT Heatwave, Cora Jade and Roxanne Perez looked to settle their growing feud as the former friends did battle.
While the former friends waged war, both Cora Jade and Roxanne Perez were left bitter that the other continued to kick out until Jade introduced the kendo stick to the match.
Enraged, Roxanne Perez picked up the kendo stick and threatened to use it, until she had a change of heart, threw it down… leaving room for Cora Jade to strike and capture the pinfall victory.
As the segment ended, commentary pondered if we were entering the “generation of Jade.”
The opening match on NXT Heatwave was for the North American Championship and saw Giovanni Vinci battling it out with Carmelo Hayes.
Also being defended, the NXT Women’s Championship with champ Mandy Rose taking on Zoey Stark and Bron Breakker defending his NXT Championship against J.D. McDonagh.
Elsewhere in the episode, there was an NXT UK invasion during a tense segment featuring Diamond Mind and Paul Heyman loaned his iconic voice for the opening video package.
