Dakota Kai Injury Update After WWE SummerSlam 2023 Appearance WWE

WWE star Dakota Kai has provided an update on her recovery, amid her in-ring hiatus due to injury.

Kai hasn’t wrestled since teaming with Bayley to face off against Liv Morgan and Raquel Rodriguez on the May 12 edition of SmackDown.

Since then, Kai has been recovering from surgery to fix her torn ACL, after suffering this injury during that match.

Kai made an appearance at SummerSlam 2023 to celebrate with IYO SKY and Bayley after SKY cashed in her Money in the Bank contract to win the WWE Women’s Championship.

During the post-show press conference, Kai stated that she isn’t close to an in-ring return yet, but noted that she’s doing heavy squats in training.

Promising that 2024 will be her year, Kai said:

“So I came because this is such a big moment for her and us as a group. I’m still a ways a way from being in-ring cleared, but I had to be here for her tonight.

“It was a crazy accomplishment for her representing us as Damage CTRL. 2024 is going to be crazy, but we’re getting there! I’m squatting heavy, alright?”

IYO SKY’s cash-in came moments after Bianca Belair won the WWE Women’s Title in a three-way bout against Charlotte Flair and now-former champion Asuka.
