Top WWE Raw Star Names Recent Celebrity Match As His Proudest Career Moment

A top WWE Raw star has named a recent match with a world-renowned celebrity as his proudest career moment.

While the ticket to Damian Priest’s ascent to the top of the WWE lies within his Money in the Bank briefcase, he’s certainly already had a year to remember in 2023.

Not only for featuring in perhaps the most prominent faction in the entire company, but also racking up career accolades such as the aforementioned men’s Money in the Bank briefcase and a short reign as Undisputed Tag Team Champions alongside Finn Balor.

However, beating out even those as well as any previous title wins or milestones beforehand was, in Priest’s opinion, his Backlash match with hugely popular musical artist Bad Bunny in Puerto Rico.

Speaking on WWE’s The Bump, Priest reflected on the match and its significance, not only to himself but to the whole of Puerto Rico and Hispanic people worldwide.

Priest said:

“I’m a very proud Puerto Rican and love that I got to go to the island and do it there and do this historic moment for our little island.”

“But what it did for Latinos, just putting us in the front page, so to speak, showcasing what we can do on our home turf and the world saw it, how special it was.

“I hear people that are not Hispanic coming up to me and saying, ‘That was so special, that I felt it.'”

Priest then spoke of Hispanic Heritage Month and how much representing his culture matters to him:

“I think everyone should always be proud and should always represent, no matter where they come from, no matter where their blood lies.

“That’s something that we should all be proud of and that — win or lose — that moment was bigger than any one match. And by far, I don’t think I could ever be prouder of a moment.”

Despite losing their Undisputed Tag Team Titles to Cody Rhodes and Jey Uso at Fastlane, Priest and Balor will get a chance for revenge on tonight’s Monday Night Raw (October 16) as the two teams square off in a rematch.
