Danhausen and a tag team partner are set to face Kit Wilson and The Miz in a tag team match at WWE Backlash 2026.

Ever since arriving in WWE, Danhausen had been on a mission to get The Miz to mentor him and help him become a major star, but Miz rejected that idea and instead started mentoring Kit Wilson.

With Miz continually refusing to mentor Danhausen, Danhausen has continued to curse and torment Miz, including last week when he showed up at The Miz’s house, as well as their WrestleMania segment with John Cena.

Tonight on WWE SmackDown, Danhausen was in the ring when Miz came out and admitted that he had finally come to the realization that Danhausen’s curse is real and he agreed to mentor Danhausen.

However, this brought out Wilson who tried to convince Miz against doing so – and as it turns out, it was all a ruse, as Miz and Wilson both double team attacked Danhausen and left him down in the ring.

Later in the show, Danhausen went to find SmackDown General Manager Nick Aldis and requested a match against Miz and Wilson at WWE Backlash.

Aldis said he couldn’t make a handicap match, but would make a tag team match if Danhausen could find a partner.

Initially, Danhausen didn’t like that idea because it sounded like a lot of hard work, but he did eventually agree to it, so the match is set.

As of now, there are no real signs as to who Danhausen’s tag team partner could be.

Another match that was made official for Backlash tonight was Trick Williams defending the United States Championship against Sami Zayn in a WrestleMania rematch.
