An injured WWE star has expressed interest in challenging for an AAA championship, sending a message to the current titleholder.

El Hijo De Dr Wagner Jr has been prominently featured on AAA under WWE, with the star winning the AAA Latin American Championship at Triplemanía XXXIII in August 2025.

Following over 250 days as champion, the luchador recently took to Twitter to ask who would like to challenge for his title.

Elio LeFleur responded to Hijo De Dr Wagner Jr, teasing a match for the future.

Telling the champion to hold onto his gold, LeFleur wrote:

Please keep this title until I’m Back and WE GO. 🤝

Elio LeFleur is currently out of action, recovering from an injury he suffered at a non-televised event in March.

With LeFleur confirming that his surgery had been a success in early-April, the star is on the road to recovery, ahead of an in-ring return.

LeFleur’s injury resulted in the French star having to relinquish the WWE Speed Championship, with his reign lasting just 34 days, following his title win over Jasper Troy and Eli Knight in February.

Lexis King is the current Speed Champion, defeating EK Prosper in a tournament final to win the vacant championship.

It would make sense for Elio LeFleur to immediately be in a title picture upon his return, as even if he doesn’t target El Hijo De Dr Wagner Jr, his first course of action could be to attempt to win back the title he never lost.

LeFleur’s last televised match saw him team with Axiom and Dorian Van Dux to defeat Charlie Dempsey, Nathan Frazer and Tristan Angels in a match taped for AAA on February 28, which ultimately aired on April 4.

We wish Elio LeFleur a safe and healthy recovery.
