TNA
Broken Matt Hardy has made his return on tonight’s episode of TNA Impact on AMC during the opening match of the night.
In 2016, Matt Hardy debuted his ‘Broken’ character in TNA in a feud with Jeff Hardy, which got a lot of eyes on both the Hardys and TNA at that time, as it was really a precursor to a lot of the ‘cinematic’ matches we’d see in the years that followed.
In 2017, the Hardys returned to WWE, but Matt didn’t have full creative control over being the ‘Broken’ character, instead spending a period of time as ‘Woken’ Matt Hardy, which was a similar but somewhat handcuffed version, which led to a Raw Tag Team Championship alongside Bray Wyatt.
In recent years, the Hardys have played more into the retro Hardy Boyz theme, including their time in TNA after both of their departures from AEW.

However, on tonight’s April 30 episode of TNA Impact, Broken Matt returned as he helped Jeff Hardy win the opening match against Vincent of The Righteous.
The Hardy Boyz teased a return to the Broken state a few weeks ago, and this seemed to have kicked off that direction, with Jeff potentially transitioning into his Broken Universe character, Brother Nero, some time soon.
Hardy Boyz Returning To WWE?
The Hardy Boyz have been quite open about a potential return to WWE for one more run before being inducted into the Hall of Fame.
They have already been integrated back into WWE to a degree via the company’s partnership with TNA, including a brief run as NXT Tag Team Champions last year, and making appearances at events like SummerSlam and WrestleMania weekend.
It seems inevitable that a return will happen at some stage, so this might be the last time they get to bring out the Broken gimmick before that happens.
