Je’Von Evans Discourages WWE Comparisons To Jeff Hardy & Kofi Kingston, ‘Let Me Have My Own Road’ WWE/AEW

Je’Von Evans has responded to WWE fans comparing him to the likes of Jeff Hardy and Kofi Kingston, explaining why he isn’t a fan of it.

Evans has been an instant hit on the WWE main roster since moving up from NXT in the past few months, with his high-flying style resulting in several incredible moments already.

Given his style, he’s drawn comparisons to those who have performed similar feats in the past, such as Kofi Kingston and Jeff Hardy.

Kofi Kingston has been looking to recruit Je’Von Evans into the New Day in recent weeks

In a new interview on the Battleground podcast, Evans explained why he wants to discourage those comparisons from happening saying:

“Probably either the Kofi Kingston comparison or the Jeff Hardy comparison. Honestly, I feel like any comparison I would love to just be like, ‘Alright. Yeah, we know.’

“I can see me as the next Jeff Hardy or Kofi, but they’ve got their own legacy. Their own footsteps. I don’t wanna step in those footsteps. Let me have my own trail, let me have my own road.

“But, I get it. I do a lot of similar things, I have a lot of similar energy. But at the end of the day, we all have different careers.

“Any comparison, I’m kinda just like… I’m grateful that y’all are comparing me to legends, icons, future Hall of Famers, but I wanna be a legend, an icon and a Hall of Famer myself.”

Debuting Stars’ Chance To Shine At WrestleMania

There are seven WWE stars making their debuts at WrestleMania this weekend – Je’Von Evans, Oba Femi, Trick Williams, Stephanie Vaquer, Dragon Lee, JD McDonagh, Lash Legend.

There’s also the official Mania debut of IShowSpeed who has appeared at the event before and was part of the 2025 Royal Rumble match, but of course isn’t a full-time member of the WWE roster.

The new influx of talent from NXT, multiple of which are on that aforementioned list, has been a big success for WWE thus far, perhaps none more so than Oba Femi with how anticipated his match against Brock Lesnar has become.

However, Evans will certainly have a chance to make a WrestleMania moment for himself with some kind of stunt in the Intercontinental Championship ladder match.
