Dominik Mysterio has commented ahead of facing The Demon Finn Balor at WWE WrestleMania 42, stating that he plans to handle business.
Following the announcement that Dominik will face Balor’s “The Demon” persona on April 19, the AAA Mega Champion has addressed this upcoming challenge.
Appearing on ESPN’s Get Up, Mysterio was asked if the match against his former teammate was personal, responding:
“Absolutely. You know, I’ve grown up with Finn Balor in this business, had him with me before he went bad, you know, when I was tagging with my dad at the time.
“And, then, once I went bad, he turned me into the bad side. So, he flipped me out there.
“So, he got a little too ahead of himself. I gotta go in on Sunday and handle business.”

The conversation would turn to what makes Balor dangerous now that he’s no longer in Judgment Day, with Mysterio saying:
“Well, I mean, Finn Balor’s always been dangerous. He’s one of the best in the world. He’s one of the best to ever do it.
“But, now, on Sunday, he’s not entering as Finn Balor. He’s entering as “The Demon” Finn Balor, which puts him on a whole other level. I don’t know what I gotta bring, but definitely I gotta bring something to this ‘demon’.”

Finally, Mysterio would be asked whether the match was just about winning, or about proving he was “always the leader of Judgment Day”, with the WWE star addressing that suggestion:
“You know, the Judgment Day is very famous for, I’m quoting, that we’ve never had any leaders. We’ve always done our own thing. No leaders.
“So, I think this is to prove why we had to kick out Finn Balor, because he was trying to be a leader. He was trying to call shots when they weren’t necessarily.
“So, on Sunday, I’m going to go in there and handle business for the Judgment Day just to prove that there was never any leaders, and we are all equal leaders in the group.”

With Mysterio calling Balor “one of the best in the world”, the former Judgment Day member also shared his praise of Dominik in recent comments.
It may come as no surprise that Rey Mysterio is looking forward to the match between his son and Balor on April 19.
Follow The Leader
In the history of Judgment Day, Edge was the only leader of the group, founding it and bringing Damian Priest into the fold back in 2022, only for the WWE Hall of Famer to be cast out when Finn Balor joined in June of that year.
The feud between both men would continue to WrestleMania 39 in April 2023, with Balor emerging as The Demon in what would be a losing effort in the Hell in a Cell match on Night 2.
Judgment Day may have been “leaderless” since Edge parted ways with the faction (and WWE), but Balor has played his part in directing traffic over the years, adding JD McDonagh and Roxanne Perez to the collective and playing a part in banishing Damian Priest.
Without Balor in its number, the longest serving member of Judgment Day is Dominik Mysterio, with much resting on WrestleMania 42 as Liv Morgan challenges Stephanie Vaquer for the WWE Women’s World Championship on Night 1, and JD McDonagh competes in the six-man ladder match for Penta’s Intercontinental Championship on Night 2.
Mysterio faces Balor on Night 2 and steps into the ring with an alternate personality that is meant to signal a change of intensity for Balor, with the star explaining why The Demon isn’t often seen in WWE.
