The Miz has revealed what he was planning at WWE WrestleMania 42 before Danhausen chose to get involved at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas.

Coming face-to-face with John Cena, this wasn’t the first time that The Miz had been in the ring with John Cena at the top Premium Live Event, having retained the WWE Championship against the now retired star at WrestleMania 27 in 2011.

Unfortunately, for The Miz, this year’s two-night show wouldn’t see a match, although it would see an attack from Danhausen.

The Miz has now revealed the plans he had in mind before Danhausen chose to get involved during an appearance on the Complex Graps Wrestling Podcast, saying:

“The guy ruined my WrestleMania moment by the way… When I was out there, I was expecting to have to fight John Cena. John Cena was like, ‘No, have your moment, here’s a microphone. Do what you do best.’

“I’m about to talk, I’m about to give everyone a never-before-seen footage of American Gladiators, this new American Gladiators, I’m about to throw it out there at WrestleMania. Huge right? This is big. And who interrupts it? Danhausen.

“That’s not a curse, that’s an annoyance. And then what happens? I get taken out like I’m The Undertaker, and Druids are taking me out.

“That’s not the way you want to have a WrestleMania moment, especially at Allegiant Stadium. That’s not what I imagined my moment would be. Danhausen needs to be fixed.”

The Miz wasn’t the only WWE star to be involved with Danhausen at WrestleMania 42, with Kit Wilson also commenting on being accosted by mini versions of the Very Nice, Very Evil one.

Since all this went down, Danhausen has turned up at The Miz’s own home, making a nuisance of himself and riding off on the daughter of the veteran WWE star and his real-life wife, Maryse.

In the interview, The Miz would also reveal that his daughter didn’t mind Danhausen riding off on her bike as she likes the WWE star.

The Miz Becomes The Perfect Foil For Danhausen

Since debuting at WWE Elimination Chamber, Danhausen has become quite the presence, despite only having had two matches to date.

His role in WWE has seen praise from Stephanie McMahon and the recently returned Paige, among others, with a number of stars having run into the curse-wielding star, including the likes of IShowSpeed, a social media personality who would go on to have his own WrestleMania moment this year.

There’s an argument to be made that Danhausen should be used sparingly in the ring, despite being a very capable performer with around thirteen years of matches to his name. The entertainment factor, for Danhausen, has found its footing after a somewhat lukewarm reception at Elimination Chamber, and the interactions he’s had with other WWE stars have all been fun to watch.

It’s with The Miz and Kit Wilson that Danhausen has found a perfect foil. Both larger-than-life characters in their own right, it’d be easy for all three to try to one up each other as personalities, but that’s not been the case. What has happened is that The Miz has continued to demonstrate why he’s a highly regarded star in WWE, while Wilson has risen to the occasion with a hugely popular character that now gets to work alongside a veteran, and Danhausen has been thrown into that mix with entertaining results that don’t feel forced.

It’s the organic nature of storylines like this where WWE sees success, through stars who are not being forced upon the audience in roles that don’t quite seem to gel. Where the story of Danhausen, Kit Wilson and The Miz goes from here remains to be seen, but should continue to be entertaining.
