Chris Jericho Staying With New Japan?
Possibly inspired by The Beast Incarnate’s WWE deal, Chris Jericho has described his New Japan agreement on X-Pac’s 12360 podcast as “a Brock Lesnar type of schedule where I am not there for every show but the ones that I am there for are now special cause Jericho is there.”
After wrestling what many thought was a one-and-done match for New Japan against Kenny Omega at WrestleKingdom 12 in January, Jericho returned the very next night to set up a feud with Tetsuya Naito. This culminated at New Japan’s Dominion show earlier this month, where Jericho won Naito’s IWGP Intercontinental Championship.
“I didn’t expect to be doing more matches with New Japan as of January of this year and now that I’ve done another one and there’s a couple more in the pipeline I might decide to stay a little longer.”
