WWE Hall of Famer Adam Copeland (Edge) has filed for four new trademarks with the United States Patent & Trademark Office (USPTO).
Following his WWE contract expiring at the end of September, Copeland made his AEW debut in the closing moments of WrestleDream on October 1.
On the same day, four applications were filed with for trademarks with the USPTO by Copeland via Wet Yeti Inc.
The applications were for trademarks relating to the phrases ‘LEDGEND’, ‘COPE’, ‘THE ROGUE’ and ‘ICONOCLAST’.
The following description accompanied each individual filing:
Entertainment in the nature of wrestling contests; Entertainment services, namely, wrestling exhibits and performances by a professional wrestler and entertainer;
Entertainment services, namely, live appearances by a professional wrestler and sports entertainer; Entertainment services, namely, personal appearances by a professional wrestler and sports entertainer;
Entertainment services, namely, televised appearances by a professional wrestler and sports entertainer; Providing wrestling news and information via a global computer network;
Providing online interviews featuring a professional wrestling and sports entertainment personality in the field of professional wrestling and sports entertainment for entertainment purposes
The ‘Ledgend’ trademark seems to be the first reference to Copeland’s ‘Edge’ character following his WWE exit, with the popular star billed under his real name ‘Adam Copeland’ at WrestleDream.
Some of Copeland’s AEW presentation is familiar however, as he still enters to ‘Metalingus’, and is referred to as the Rated-R Superstar.
