Former WWE star Eric Young made his return to IMPACT Wrestling at the Slammiversary pay-per-view on Saturday night.
Young’s return came after he re-signed with WWE in November 2022, not making a return on screen before requesting his release back in April 2023.
Young’s release request came after the WWE deal with Endeavor was finalised, and Vince McMahon’s return to the company was official.
Fightful Select reported that did not want to work with Vince, citing moral, creative and personal reasons, with his release being officially granted.
Taking to Twitter today, Young reflected on his IMPACT return, and how he made a ‘hard choice’.
He said:
This felt good! This felt right! I made a hard choice and there is no doubt in my mind it was the right one!
Young was revealed as the mystery tag team partner for Scott D’Amore on the show.
He and D’Amore were victorious over Bully Ray and Deaner in tag team action.
Young was ‘killed off’ by Deaner when he left the company last year, with the match serving as his ‘return from the dead’.
