It was revealed yesterday that WWE had cancelled their Backlash pay-per-view in June after postponing their Saudi Arabia show in May. However, one pay-per-view that appears to be very much on is Extreme Rules, with the event set to take place from the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia on July, 14.

At last year’s event, which also took place in Philadelphia, Dolph Ziggler successfully defended his Intercontinental Champion in a 30-minute Iron Man match that main evented the show, and Rusev was unsuccessful in trying to wrestle the WWE Champion away from AJ Styles.
The Wells Fargo Center Website has actually potentially spoiled some of the matches for this year’s event. The advertisement on the venue’s website is listing the following bouts for the pay-per-view:
- WWE Universal Champion Seth Rollins vs. Baron Corbin
- Roman Reigns vs. Randy Orton.
- AJ Styles vs. Drew McIntyre.
Of course, the card is always subject to change, but this could be true and we could actually have to see Baron Corbin challenge Seth Rollins in a match for the Universal Champion at NO ONE wants to see. However, I don’t think you’d find many people complaining at the prospect of a Drew McIntyre vs. AJ Styles clash.
This comes after it was reported just this week that Drew McIntyre is set to be Seth Rollins’ first challenger for the Universal Championship at the upcoming Money In The Bank pay-per-view.
