Huge Planned Changes For SmackDown Live Men’s Survivor Series Team

Last night on Raw, the red brand’s men’s team was finalized, with Braun Strowman, Drew McIntyre, Dolph Ziggler, Finn Bálor and Bobby Lashley the five-some that will represent the Monday night show in a traditional five-on-five Survivor Series elimination match.

They are currently set to take on Daniel Bryan, The Miz, Shane McMahon, Rey Mysterio and Samoa Joe, who will be representing the SmackDown Live team after the squad was decided last week.

However, according to Mike Johnson of PWInsider, plans may well change, and we’ll see Shane McMahon replaced in Team Blue by Randy Orton:

“Shane McMahon is currently advertised for Survivor Series. We were told a week, a week and a half ago that he will not be in the match — it will be Randy Orton. So we’ll see if there is some sort of angle where Shane steps out and Randy Orton is put in or maybe there’s some Raw attack and someone from Raw takes out Shane and it leads to Randy Orton stepping in? We’ll see. Maybe they’ll just change their plans completely and Shane’s gonna be in but everyone I spoke to in the last 48 hours seemed to still be under the understanding that comes Sunday at Survivor Series, Randy Orton will be in that Raw vs SmackDown men’s elimination match.”

As Johnson said, it is possible that WWE will just change their plans and Shane will remain in the match, but sources have clearly made it apparent that it will be Bryan, Miz, Mysterio, Joe and Orton representing SmackDown come Sunday.
