Ilja Dragunov Is The ‘Full Package’ Says WWE Main Roster Star WWE

Tommaso Ciampa has shared his feelings about the current WWE NXT roster, the NXT 2.0 era and also the “next level” star of the brand.

A former NXT Champion and NXT Tag Team Champion (with Johnny Gargano), Ciampa spoke about the energy in the WWE Performance Center after a recent visit.

Ciampa appeared on WWE After the Bell with Corey Graves & Kevin Patrick and covered a range of NXT-related topics.

Addressing the NXT 2.0 era, he said:

“It had a tough spin. It had a tough time with NXT 2.0, the adjustments, the color scheme changes. Everything. The vibe was different for a while.”

He would, however, credit the stars who had come up during that period of the brand, saying:

“All these new talents and acts have now stepped past that point of being new and they’re developed and they have characters and they’ve got backstory. You can connect. It was cool to see.”

Ciampa would turn his attention to stand-out performers in the brand, stating:

“It’s cool to see Carmelo Hayes be a full package. It’s cool to see Trick Williams break out like crazy over the last few months.”

He would then focus on the NXT Champion Ilja Dragunov, going on to say:

“Ilja Dragunov is. next level. He is full package and ready to go. You can toss that guy on a pay-per-view tomorrow and he is going to deliver.”

Dragunov defeated Carmelo Hayes to win the NXT Championship at NXT No Mercy and has spoken about how he felt winning the championship.

Ciampa was recently reunited with Johnny Gargano, himself a former NXT Champion, on the October 2 episode of WWE Raw.
