An injured AEW star was removed from a match during tonight’s October 1 WrestleDream 2023 pay-per-view event.
During the show, there was a four-way #1 contender tag team match with the Young Bucks, the Lucha Bros, the Gunn brothers, and the team of HOOK and Orange Cassidy.
The Bucks won the match, but that’s not the end of the story.
Early on in the match, Rey Fenix was taken to the back and wasn’t seen again.
Fenix had recently suffered an injury on the same spot that Jon Moxley suffered a concussion during their Dynamite match, so it’s possible it’s related to that.
In fact, Fenix was only cleared very shortly before his match with Jeff Jarrett earlier this week due to injury concerns.
We’ll keep you posted if any more updates emerge.
One of the most dominant Tag Teams in #AEW, @PENTAELZEROM & #AEW International Champ @ReyFenixMx will show CERO MIEDO tonight to secure a shot for the #AEW World Tag Team Titles.
