James E Cornette is one of the greatest managers of all-time.
The tennis racket-wielding outspoken mama’s boy led the likes of The Midnight Express, Yokozuna, Vader and Owen Hart to glory during a storied ringside career during the 1980s and 90s.
But while Corny’s full-time managerial days appear to be behind him, it seems the Louisville Lip might be itching for a return. Or at least, judging by his comments on a recent edition of The Apter Chat with legendary journalist Bill Apter.
When Bill asked Cornette who he would like to manage out of today’s crop of stars, Jimbo replied:
“I’ve been a fan of one particular guy since I first saw him in Ring of Honor eight years ago. He was Tyler Black then, but he’s Seth Rollins now. And I think he’s just the whole package. He can work. He sounds good. He looks good. He’s got the size.
“He reminds me of a modern day Rick Rude. He has that aura about him. He carries himself like a star.”
Now Cornette was of course, speaking hypothetically. He is not part of WWE and the former champion Rollins looks unlikely to need a manager at this point in his career now he’s got his Shield buddies Roman Reigns and Dean Ambrose back by his side.
But James E leading The Shield into battle? That could be interesting to say the least.
