On tonight’s (July 6) edition of AEW Dynamite, the Interim AEW World Championship was on the line as Jon Moxley faced off against Brody King.
The fierce main event kicked off without a substantial amount of time left in the show, with the announcement coming from Tony Khan on Twitter as well as commentary that TBS would be staying with the action, utilizing an overrun of the time slot if necessary.
In the end, Mox was able to best the monster House of Black member Brody King to retain the AEW Interim World Championship.
Elsewhere on the show, Wardlow defeated Scorpio Sky for the TNT Championship and a new tag-team debuts in ThunderStorm (Thunder Rosa and Toni Storm) taking on the formidable opponents of Nyla Rose and Marina Shafir and Christian Cage had harsh words for Matt Hardy.
Big matches were announced for next week’s Fyter Fest 2022 edition of AEW Dynamite including a big three team match pitting Powerhouse Hobbs and Ricky Starks and Swerve in Our Glory (Keith Lee and Swerve Strickland) against AEW Tag Team Champions the Young Bucks for the titles (although the crowd had a suggestion of their own!)
