An update has emerged on the future of Sami Callihan, with several stars including Jon Moxley showing interest in the free agent.
Following previous reports, the former IMPACT World Champion confirmed that he was set to become a free agent at midnight on September 30.
Per Fightful Select, there are some within AEW who are pushing for him, with Jon Moxley specifically named in the report.
Fightful noted that Moxley has maintained a great relationship with Callihan over the years.
It was also stated that Callihan’s name has been in the conversation for producer roles with other companies, following his success running his Wrestling Revolver promotion.
Moxley and Callihan were in The Crew faction together back in 2006, before the duo brought their partnership to CZW.
The two stars wrestled together in several promotions, notably winning the wXw Tag Team Championship as the Switchblade Conspiracy in October 2009.
While the duo were technically both in WWE at the same time, with Callihan with the company from 2012 to 2015, and Moxley signed to WWE from 2011 to 2019, the duo didn’t ever team up while there.
We will continue to provide updates on Callihan’s status as they become available.
An update has emerged on another exciting prospect rumored to be joining WWE or AEW, which you can read more about right here.
