WWE Star Promises To Support Kazuchika Okada With Next Move

WWE Star Promises To Support Kazuchika Okada With Next Move NJPW

WWE star Shinsuke Nakamura has addressed Kazuchika Okada’s decision to leave NJPW, noting that he will support Okada throughout his move.

Okada is slated to wrestle his final match for NJPW on February 24 before officially leaving the promotion.

It has been heavily speculated that Okada will join a US-based promotion, with both AEW and WWE previously showing interest in the former IWGP World Heavyweight Champion.

One Japanese star who previously made the transition into a full-time US based star is Shinsuke Nakamura, who signed with WWE in 2016.

Speaking with Tokyo Sports, Nakamura praised Okada for having the courage to move on from NJPW.

Noting that he doesn’t want Okada to have to go through some of the hardships he had to when moving countries, Nakamura said:

“How do you view your life, who you are, what you want to become? Only you can make that decision, so the courage to take the step that Okada took…I feel like (Antonio) Inoki when I say it, but once you’ve taken the step, you have no choice but to go on. Of course, I will support him, and if there is anything I can do, I will do it.

“That’s part of it, and also the invisible procedures. There were a lot of hardships I had to go through that I should not have had to go through. I don’t want them to have to go through that, and I hope they will be spoiled.”

Okada’s final NJPW match will take place at the February 24 New Beginning in Sapporo event, where he will team with Hiroshi Tanahashi, Hirooki Goto, YOSHI-HASHI and Tomohiro Ishii to face off against Jeff Cobb, HENARE, Great-O-Khan, Callum Newman and former WWE star Matt Riddle.

Another potential WWE target will also wrestle his farewell match for NJPW on this show, which you can read more about right here.
