AEW’s Kenny Omega Says WWE’s Jade Cargill Using His One Winged Angel Finisher At WrestleMania 42 Was ‘Kinda Neat’ AEW/WWE

AEW star Kenny Omega has reacted to Jade Cargill using the One Winged Angel during her championship match at WrestleMania 42.

Omega’s One Winged Angel finisher has reached almost mythical status in wrestling, with the move so protected that MJF only recently became the second person ever to kick out of the move done by Kenny, following Kota Ibushi in 2012.

Jade Cargill used her own variation of the move while defending her WWE Women’s Championship at WrestleMania 42 Sunday, with the maneuver referred to by commentary as the Sandstorm.

Omega has now taken to Twitter to say that seeing other people use the moves he also uses is all good with him.

Stating that it was “kinda neat” to see the One Winged Angel used at WrestleMania, Kenny Omega wrote:

When I see the moves I do elsewhere, I only take it as a compliment. If somehow I inspired people to use them, I can only be grateful.

Besides, seeing the OWA on the WM ring was kinda neat, right? It’s all good with me!

You can view Cargill using the move at around 1:15 in the highlight video below.

As much as some stars can draw criticism by using moves closely associated with other wrestlers, the truth is, if wrestlers stopped using every single move that had been used before, pro-wrestling would no longer exist.

Even the most innovative finishers have their roots and origins, including recent Raw debutant Sol Ruca’s Sol Snatcher, which is an impressive variation of the Cutter, most famously used by Randy Orton as his RKO, but previously also popularised by Diamond Dallas Page, and countless other wrestlers.

There are some moves that are so closely associated with a wrestler that using it immediately brings them to mind, but in the case of Jade Cargill, using this move is a sweet homage to one of the names who would’ve helped her a lot backstage, with Omega being a big backstage contributor to AEW’s women’s division in the company’s early days.

Cargill would ultimately lose the WWE Women’s Championship to Rhea Ripley at WrestleMania 42, with Ripley earning her fourth career world championship on the WWE main roster.
