New World Heavyweight Champion Roman Reigns has addressed CM Punk following their WWE WrestleMania 42 main event.
What was being advertised as one of the biggest WrestleMania main events in history took place last night, when CM Punk defended the World Heavyweight Championship against 2026 Royal Rumble winner Roman Reigns.
The match was the second straight time the pair would face off at WrestleMania, with last year’s night one main event also featuring Seth Rollins.
Roman Reigns would end up scoring the win in the match, putting CM Punk down to capture the World Heavyweight Championship for the first time in his career.
Roman Reigns Says He & CM Punk ‘Made Magic’ At WrestleMania 42
Following the show, Roman took to social media, where he reflected on his match with Punk last night in Las Vegas.
Roman noted that ‘despite all the s**t’ Punk put him through, he believes that they made magic, and that last night will ‘live forever’.
He said:
Despite All The Shit You’ve Put Me Through Over The Years, I Can Honestly Say Under Those Bright Lights… We Made Magic.
I Still Hate You, But Last Night Will Live Forever. #WrestleMania
Who Will Challenge Roman Reigns First Following WrestleMania 42?
Coming out of WrestleMania 42, Roman Reigns noted on the post-show that he plans to be a full-time member of the roster following his World Heavyweight Championship victory in the night two main event.
On the post-show for WrestleMania 42, Oba Femi would call out Roman Reigns following his emphatic victory over Brock Lesnar to start the night, which seemingly led to Lesnar’s retirement from WWE.
It has also been reported that there are plans for a potential feud between Reigns and Gunther following WrestleMania and Gunther’s victory over Seth Rollins on night one of the event.
Bron Breakker also made his return to WWE television in the match between Gunther and Seth Rollins, costing Rollins the match, with him reportedly originally slated to be part of a World Heavyweight Championship match at WrestleMania 42 against CM Punk prior to injuries led to multiple changes up and down the WrestleMania 42 card over the past few months.
Reigns is set to appear on tonight’s WWE Raw after WrestleMania show, where we may find out who is next in line for his title.
